I-8 to the Grays Well exit. Buttercup campground is on the south side of the highway, to the left.

According to: ISDRA Buttercup Sand Dune Guide

well, if you are looking to ride all the big name dunes, hills, and understand what everyone is talking about when they say, "olds" or Lizard" or "comp"

Experience Glamis, you really will never find better!

But if you just want to dune, well, Buttercup, Gordons Well, or any near by place will rock! Less people yes, but tends to be more family orientated then Glamis.

Look at it this way, A young buck would want to tell Stories of Glamis, to where a experienced duner would talk about the ride, condition of dunes, and how the bike ran this trip.......

As for directions, (don't take this the wrong way) But invest in a GPS, Life saver when scoping out all the spots.

great stuff out there, plenty of dune riding, there's some baja style stuff by the canal, comp hill never gets old, there's HUGE bowls and china walls fairly far but pretty steep which is fun. and as for directions, i have no clue cuz i'm more of the co-pilot.
