Did half a barrel roll.
Bad thing is we were rolling tape from the guy falling me. Missed the roll by 2 seconds. Batteries went dead.

2 Cracked ribs
1 Bruised lung
Severly dislocated shoulder ( I can now pop it in and out of the socket by myself now)
Concussion

All on the same wreck. I was 16 and doing something I shouldn't have been doing on a 75 honda 250 (Yea the 500000 lb steel one) with no back brakes

And then the latest one.
Turns out I tore 4 out of 5 tendons in my hand, and strained the hell out of the one that goes around the wrist and holds the others in place.

Have never hurt myself on my shee, but I was on my BMX bike jumping and landed on my handle bars and broke 2 ribs, concussion and had my spleen remove. Walked myself home and laid in bed till my dad got home and took me to the hospital. They did not know what was wrong till they asked me to take a urine sample and i fainted in the bathroom from loss of blood. spent a week in the hospital and 3 weeks out of school.

I posted this a couple weeks ago..but to save time...here it is

I was at Sand Mt with the US Navy on a 4 week training detachment and had the weekend free. Myself and 4 other people went out to ride for a few hours... I had to rejet my 421 cheetah powervalve motor due to a drastic weather change from the previous weekend of riding. I unloaded and did my initial test run to see where I had to go as far as jetting...I would do some adjustments and do a test run...did this 4 or 5 times and finally got her dialed in... I was doing my last test run(in my owns tracks from the previous runs) and pinned her in 3rd gear on good sized flat stretch.. just as I hit 4th gear I saw an elevation change out of the corner of my eye and then I saw the 3 foot dune...The way the sun was hitting the face of the dune I could not see it..it blended right in...I had enough time to come off the gas and that was all I remember. I do remember flying through the air side ways looking down at my banshee and then nothing....I woke up on my left side spitting sand out of my mouth,,,the guys I was with were already at my side asking if I was ok..It took me a few minutes to catch my breath and my boddy was already starting to stiffen up....I got my shee and it started right up(I with the help of one of my buddies) and went back to the truck....i was drug to the hospital(after 45 minutes of not being able to catch my breath and had a gray complexion) where I found out I had 3 broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a broken collar bone. The banshee had flipped and landed on the handlebar/radiator/bumper at the same time and landed back on it's wheels facing the direction I just came from. The banshee incurred a bent steering loop( bent about 1.5 inches back) a smashed front bumper, a bent bolt tabs for the front bolts for the front plastics and bent handlebars... I think when it landed on the wheels it screwed up my left rear hub because it now has some movement when torqued down on the axle... fromt where I left the ground to where I landed was about 60 feet...and the banshee landed about 10 past that.... I figure that when the front end came up I face planted into my front fender bending the mounting tabs and broke my visor on my helmet....i got the frame back in place by tying some tie down straps to the steering loop and wrapping them around a tree and ratcheting the straps so the back tires came up off the ground about 6 inches and then bouncing on the rear end.. this was done about a week after the wreck 3 broken ribs and my arms in the sling for teh broken collar bone.... if you didn't know it you couldn't tell it had been flipped.....

ok, i have read these posts a few times, so time to chime in.

Only got hurt 1 time riding, 1 time loading, and 1 time working on it.

Kids dont drink and drive/ride.
Back in about 88 I had a 82 honda 250r, drank way more than I should, wound it out in top gear at the local riding area on the river, and the last thing I remember was seeing this toyota 4x4 pickup with the japanese rising sun painted on the side. I rode about another 200 yards before I Apparently hit a huge piece of concrete shaped like an L, this thing looked like something off a bridge or something, it was very large.
Well needless to say it wasn't pretty, and I am probably lucky to have lived.
I probably flew at least 50 feet before hitting on the back of my neck. There were a bunch of riding buddies that heard me ripping thru there and then all of a sudden silence. They thought I had stopped to take care of business.
Well when I came to apparently I got back on the almost totaled trike, and came riding back into camp with the left rear wheel and axle pointing almost backwards and I didn't even know it. I remember wondering why everyone was laughing at me. They had me pull off my shirt and my entire neck was already pitch black, so I loaded up and drove myself home (again dumb) but that actually sobered me up pretty quick. Even though I was about 20 and lived at home, I didnt' dare tell my dad, as he was dead set against me getting that "damn death trap", so I just went to bed. Luckily I healed up with no long term issues.

Next I went riding alone because the crew backed out at the last moment. Everything went well, until time to go home. I stood the trike up on the rear grab bar, walked it forward to the tailgate and dropped the front wheel onto the tailgate, just like I had always done a hundred times before. Well.............
the truck was parked on a slight incline, and the bike started to roll back as I went around the left side of it. So I threw my left knee under the front wheel and balanced it on my knee, so I thought cool I saved it, then it rolled forward off my knee and the exhaust pipe stuck to my knee!!!!!!! Ya that one hurt.
My leg actually drew up kinda under me. Later on I went to the ER and they said I had 3rd degree burns on my knee. So I try to load a 3 wheeler with one good leg and no ramps. Cost me about a week off work for that one.

Lastly I sold the death trap trike (boy I miss that thing), and bought a brand new 1990 banshee. I had been at the local dunes and seen a guy who made the stands for the bikes so you could sit down and be at eye level with the engine.
So anyways, I bought one from him. DIRECTIONS SAID"read all directions could cause injury". Well I used it regularly for a while, and then hadn't used it for months, when I drug it out to use it again. It is one of those stands that you stand the quad up on the back grab bar, put the stand up under the bike, and pull it towards you and then the bike sets on the stand. Well I forgot to put my foot on the back bar as the directions said, and when it fell off the stand it caught my pinky finger in between the bike and one of the tabs. Almost cut it off, my finger was just hanging there, cut down to the bone, did lots of nerve damage, and took 8 stitches to keep it on. Didn't miss any work, but took about a year to get the feeling back in it all the way.

So I guess if I don't drink, load or work on them, I would be pretty safe.

And by the way, I did learn my lesson on all the above!!!!!!!!!
I guess you could say older and wiser now.

My freshman year in high school my brother and I ran head on into each other on dirt bikes. Complete freak accident. He ended up with a broken arm and a nice cut over his eye where the visor of my helmet went under his. I on the other hand ended up a bit worse. Spent 6 days in the hospital and had 2 surgeries. First one was to fix my leg...broken right femer, 3 screws and a titanium rod....next was to fix my face. Shattered nose, cracked my upper jaw off my skull, 4 plates(2 temporary, 2 permanent), 4 screws. Missed about 3 weeks of school. Was on crutches for 2 months. Also had a piece of bone fragment wedged behind my knee so I can only flex it about 85%. All this happened WITH helmets on.

Wow... eerliy reminiscent of my recent ordeal with my evil CR500... I caught a handle bar to the groin that would surely have been a "through and through" wound if the grips didn't have that rubber on the end (NOW i know why MX grips are sealed on the outside end... LOL!). Instead, i had a nasty bruise on the outside, and a lumpy hematoma on the inside that took 4 or 5 weeks to completely go away... OUCH!!! Also, the bar "entry point" was a lot closer to the vital, ahem, stuff...

Lesson learned: Never sit down whilst attempting to hammer the whoops... Side Lesson: CR500's truly are evil beasts... That thing came up so suddlnly and violently that I was on my arse, bar in my groin, before I could say WTF?!?!
