Default 2 stroke wars

well there still seems to be alot of die hard 2 stroke guys out there! Sure would be fun to have a2 stroke wars race like the four pokes get to have! I would be willing to do alot of work to help put this on! I just dont know much about the business end of the deal, I know they used to have Banshee wars and somthing happened to the guy putting them on "someone got hurt and he got sued" but if the four pokes can do it right we should be able to also!! Maybe Im beating a dead horse but I think if enough of us work at it we could do this what do u guys think? anybody wanna do this.........DD

I'm in on this DD, but its gonna be a difficult one. $$$$ lots of $$$ is needed to organize something like this. I believe its in the thousands. Permits, emergency crew(gotta be on stand by), etc. Oh, it can be done for sure. Sponsors is key!!

Sounds like a good idea. 4 stroke wars is pretty cool, but you can't beat the sound of some nasty 2 smokes.

why not do an "informal" event. just post up a date and time and just go out and have fun. nothing formal.

but then i havent been to 4 stroke wars. i dont know how they run it.

It would be sweet stuff to hold a two stroke event most of the events are back east and hard for all of us to get to. Fyi on the informal is the racing aspect if someone got hurt, or something along those lines you not be very prepared.
If there was a track available to use then that cuts that out. Also you have to talk to the county about the dates witch usualy depending on where is pretty easy they go for it, then as for the emergency crew on stand by there are a lot of volenter er and firefighters that will hang track side for not very much.
anyways where were you thinking of doing this event?
I could check on the drag track out here if ya wanted?

yeah your right on the utah thing i wasnt thinking lol, The rules might be diffrent having it at the dunes slightly. Im sure the basics are the same. If ya got enough ppl together it could work definatly. you would have to come up with a rough out line of events to present to the county and have something to take to them to explain why you need emergency responce there, as in a just in case we want it to be a safe and enjoyable event blah blah ya know, I have never helped set up an event at the sand dunes, but it shouldnt be much diffrent then the events we used to set up at the track for the race cars. I will try and help with anything I can. it would be fun.

I do our "local drags" out here and its not that bad.The biggest problem is liability! I have not had any problems yet,and hope not too!I try to let everyone know the rules of saftey ie.. exit off the track on the correct side, wait till dust clears before running, helmets, run in your league ect....We had a teenager get hurt pretty bad last year, the little punk went down the drag strip the wrong way and just launched over the starting hill.Well he flipped a few times and was hurt pretty bad.We never asked him to run on the track but it could have been worse.Anyway I like the idea, and would be down to help,or set it up,as long is we are out west somewhere, ie AZ cali,NV!!

oh yeah just a helpfull suggestion to win it over with the county bored and city, we did $20 dallor entry to the first event and $6 for any after that. But out of the first $20 we did $5 to the the city and $5 to the emergency responce team as in like a donation. They loved that and it was a way to help them out to.

We bring a grader,a water truck, light tower, and we pick up anyones trash who leaves it behind!I would love a emergency team, but then your at more risk, cause you know someone may get hurt!!jmho We accept donations for gas on the trucks, but thats it!
