yeah on my last deployment we pulled into dubai and i took a " half day safari". we started out in toyota land cruisers and drove out to the dunes. the drivers then aired down and away we went. man they were beating the hell out of the land cruisers! whipping them around just like a quad or dirt bike! we would stop and get out every once and a while and get to walk around. we stopped one time and me and some of my drunk buddies went " dune diving" we would run and jump off the dune and tuck and roll when we landed! we then made our way to a camp in the middle of no where. there they had like 90cc quads that we could ride. that was a blast! i got to ride a camel!! and then they had a houka tent, a belly dancer and some kick ass middle eastern food!! we then hopped back into the land cruisers and started to make our way back! those drivers at night hit the dunes harder than during the day!! it was a blast! i recommend that if you ever get the chance you need to do it!!!!
