HI, didn`t want to clog the dumont post! If you had a new 38 keihin and stock barrel with mild dune port what should the settings be? Start with needle clip, witch groove , pilot jet #, main jet # and maybe how many main jets i need to cover the range? I`m going from the crummy 34 round slide to 38 pwk! I`ve got a feeling you`ve done this before!!

will u live in san diego right meaning ur about 40 to 50 feet above seal level so ur air is real thick
having a larger carb means having more air causing a lean affect on ur fuel flow so i would start 168 main 48 or 50 pilot needle on 4th groove down but i think u can get away with needle on middle groove i would get main jets from 160 to 170 my last setup before the 310 was trail ported jug ,boysen reeds,pt pipe ,k&n filter and 36 pwk i ran 165 main needle on middle groove or 4th groove depending on elevation change 50 pilot

They closed all the places to ride down here! The only riding left is in mtns. and thats dangerous fire rds. with blind curves at about 3-4k ft. The only place i ride anymore gordys and glamis and i think thats about sea level. I`m runin a 145 main in it now, 142 before i ported it. So it`s interesting that the 38 is going to be in the 160s on the main. Thats cool info thanks, anything to do with air screws?

ya a 34mm round slide uses different main jets sizes becouse of design
a stock main jet on a atc250r would be a 142 main a stock main jet on a trx250r would be a 150 or 152 depending on years
