I would like to put on a chrome alloy swing arm but don't want to pay out the butt for it. What would be better, forking out the money buying one used or new, or building one?
I could build one just worried how it would turn out. If I did what would be the best way do go? Here is a picture of my Quad. |

If you are anything like the rest of us perfection is the only way. So it would be quit expencive to build your own, lots of scraped material). Also with a bought new one you have a better confidence feel of it not braking on you. If you want to look at some diffrent ones check out stellar and quadcustoms. We are a dealer for both so I can get you some prices if you know the length and style you want.

+6 over a stock length 86-87 swinger seems way too long for a quad that looks like its set up for mx/trail. I would wouldnt go over a +3 if you want to keep it pretty "ridable" but thats just me.

A +4-5 would be ideal for the dunes, mines a +5 '88 style(= +4 86-87 style) and its very dunable. You have enough power to run a +6 if that's what you want too........
