not pointing fingers but, in my opinion the turn key rail and big boar 4 stroke is ruining the dunes. when I started going to the dunes 14 years years ago, when you had to build a rail or ride a two stroke to really get threw the dunes you didn't see beer cans all over the place and yes Easter was a lil wild but but hay it was the kick off and cabin fever and gear heads who had been spending more time in the shop then the house brought the $hit out to show it off and play. Now you can plop down 60 grand and buy a rail or walk in to a show room and buy a quad that will pack you around the sand fast enough to hurt you or some one else and not have to sacrifice and blood, sweat, pain or tears to play in the sand. That right there has degraded the people of the sport of duning. The old guard of duning wile not emune to making mistakes or getting accidents are the ones who come back from a ride and empty all of there empty's plus a few more out of there coolers stock back up, fill up and go pound there next favorite line not just toss there empty's in the sand and pull away. Yes I party when I'm at the dunes, after I'm done riding, yes The music is loud in my camp, but we camp at the mountain and there are no quiet hours there. I live to dune and hang out with the dune rats I run with! I really don't see the need for the massive law enforcement surge on big weekends(yes there needs to be a few more) whose only goal is bring in revenue for juab county. I dont want to see a closure of the dunes, a ban on drinking. or any other regulations were I ride. What i do want to see is the money paid in fines and impound's stay with in the blm not juab county.Then the rates wouldn't have to go up and we just might get the road in repaved and a few other improvements.
