Default Blm want to raise fees @ l.s. ut.

The blm Is proposing to increase fees at little sahara.......... not a little bit or a few bucks, it double!

the fees as of now are:day pass:8.00 per vehicle,10.00 per vehicle on holidays ,annual pass:75.00 per vehicle, annual pass for 2nd vehicle 50.00

under the new plan: day passes will no longer be available. 2 day pass: 25.00 per vehicle, 30.00 per vehicle on holidays, 7 day pass: 40.00 per vehicle, annual pass:120.00 per vehicle, annual pass for 2nd vehicle 65.00

The blm is stating that this is to cover rising costs of operation as stated here
Fillmore. Now If you have ever been down on a big weekend and seen the crowds at 10.00 a rig how much do you think the dunes pulled in a year? I am not opposed to paying more to play but not double to pay for law enforcement on big weekends who hassle every one them come across fishing for a reason to ticket you or impound your bike or toy. I'm rather upset that in economy that is struggling that the blm and leo's can get a raise and pawn it off on the hard working honest and mostly safe duners?

They should be lowering fees, not raising them.

I agree with you bro, but SP is right. We pay that here, and Little Sahara looks really sweeT! Those fees would not deter me from going

They are eliminating our day pass. Since LS is within a driving distance for a day ride there are many that travel to the dunes for a days use only, including myself on occasion. By eliminating the day pass it will now cost me $25 to ride once maybe twice during that day. I'm not opposed to say a $1 or $2 increase for a day but eliminating it entirely and then force me to buy a two day pass for triple what I use to pay. . . . .

I hear you dude, I do not live close enough to any dunes, so day trips are out for me. I would be pissed too! Have you guys sent emails, gone to the meetings, etc?

They will most likely raise the rates for sure, but you guys need to fight for day passes at a reasonable rate since the area is close enough to civilization

here in nevada we dont have 1 or 2 day passes our week pass is 40$ like yours and that what we have to buy for a day trip (which we make often) either that or getting a season pass so it could be worse

They do hold meetings for this kind of thing. It has also not completly been pushed through just yet. Also they are not taking out the day pass completly but it is still in review how it should be handled. I also work and know almost all of the police and rangers and paramedics that work out there. You would not want to have to do there job out there on a busy weekend. The biggest reason why they are doing this is It will deter the ppl who just go down in huge groups over the holiday weekend to party, steal, and trash shit so over the last few months it has been on the table either ban alchol or shut it down for a few years for easter weekend or up the price.
It sucks that things have come to this I voted to ban drinking I and hundreds of others agree you can drink at home and not put others in harms way out there its just dangerous.
