Default Oregon BLM Seeks Public Comment For OHV Management Planning Process

April 19th, 2010

BLUERIBBON COALITION LANDUSE UPDATE!

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

BLM Seeks Public Comment For OHV Management Planning Process for Southern Oregon

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Vale District has published a Notice of Intent to prepare Resource Management Plan (RMP) Amendments with associated Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) for the Southeastern Oregon and Lakeview planning areas. The planning areas encompass approximately 7.8 million acres in Malheur, Lake, Harney and Grant Counties in Oregon.

The BLM is seeking public comments during a 90-day scoping period, to help identify issues and concerns that should be analyzed as they develop a range of potential alternatives with respect to Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) use and Wilderness. Comments will be accepted until July 8, 2010. It is extremely important that OHV enthusiasts get involved in the designation process and stay involved throughout the entire process.

Comments may be submitted in writing, by email or by fax.
