Default Trailer Theft Prevention Ideas

I've seen a few good ideas on here about how to HELP prevent a trailer from getting stolen and figured it may be a good thing for all of us if we compiled everyone's ideas in one spot. I'll start the list with a few I've seen/read/heard about and everyone else just jump in. Also, if anyone knows of or has experienced potential downsides to any idea anyone mentions we should chime in with that too.

Tongue lock

Wheel locks

Take the wheels off

Chain it to something stationary

Motion lights

Video surveillance signs posted

Booby traps

GPS tracking device

Just tow a ratty beat up old trailer that no-one in their right mind would want...problem solved

Seriously though, I think the tongue locks are probably the most popular. There are some very good ones on the market that would be very hard to take off without the key.

for an enclosed or toyhauler, you could install an alarm system, seen them before.
remove the wheels is what I will do this winter.

GPS might be overkill unless you got a really nice trailer

I had a buddy who somehow had his emergency brake cable fixed so that when not hooked up it locked the brakes, you would wear those tires out before they would unlock.

tongue lock is probly easiest and best for open trailers and enclosed ball hook up trailers.

we have one for ours.

yup! A nice little sticker that reads
I value my stuff as much as I value my life
If you value your life,
DON'T **** WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then back it up with a big ass guard dog chained to it

But my trailer is not even worth the price of the sticker, so
