Default my "micro" quad trailer rebuild.

my dad had this small trailer built to haul my lil ATC 110 back when i was 10 (I'm now 37!). we have kept it to this day. the other day i pulled it into the garage for a lil rebuild. i cut off the rear metal uprights, welded them to the sides so my ramps are now the sides of the trailer. i replaced the floor with 3/4 inch sanded plywood. i sealed the deck with Thomson's water seal. i then built a fuel jug rack on the tongue. my quadzilla just fits. the offset of the front wheels do stick out past the sides, but the ramps still fit. my quad should fit better with my dirt tires mounted.

i will add a hitch to my VW so i can run out to the desert for day trips (it gets a lot better gas mileage than my truck)

i plan on tearing the trailer down after everything is done for a spray bomb paint job. I'm also looking for a set of new wheels and tires for it . these tiny wheels are way to small for where i want to take this thing. i also have added a small ammo box in front of the fuel jugs to hold 2-stroke oil, mix cup and tie down straps.

so.... on with the pics.

sorry i didnt take "before" pics and these were taken with my cell during the build.

i plan on getting a drop hitch so the trailer sits level...

looks good man, make do with what you got. Take my advice and get 2 spare tires mounted on that thing before you ever go anywhere, trust me I've been there, and that zilla won't be there when you get back!

Be sure and repack the wheel bearings, use new seals, and if you put bearing buddies on it, you just have to squirt it with grease from time to time, and your good to go.

We broke down in Yuma one time with a trailer that had mobile home tires on it, ya, try and find those on a friday nite, saturday and in to Sunday. That sucked.

i got new wire harness and a bolt on receiver hitch for my bumper today. while i was at the trailer supply store, i went looking at new wheels (larger) they were $60 each! i will get the 2 new wheels for sure maybe even a 3rd so i would have a matching spare tire. i was also thinking about keeping the old wheels and tires to have as spares. i will also be checking the wheel bearings before i take this thing anywhere. thanks for the advise zilla68.

cool man, I believe tractor supply has the seals if you have one of those in your area. pack those bearings good!, and yeah, I'd keep those tires for spares, you don't want to get stuck with no way to get that bike home!

Nice!!! All hooked up with tool box and gas jug crate!

Trailer doesn't dance around too much in the highway?
I'd say get a hitch a few inches lower, definately bigger tires but how bout moving the axle back a bit?
Think that that would keep it more stable when flying at 75mph.
