I just sold my tiny one place enclosed trailer, and now looking for something bigger and better.
What us a good size to go with? I'm looking at 7x14, 7x16, 8x16........any better suggestions? I will be using a Honda Ridgeline to tow it. |

I say definately go with the 8' wide one. Depending on the quad you should be able to park 2 side by side in it and if you do have to turn one sideways you'll apreciate the additional 1 ft to work with. Just make sure your truck can handle it when loaded.

Yep, what he said. And then from there, figure that a bike is roughly 6 feet long, which means a 12 footer hauls 4 bikes and 18 footer hauls 6. The 20 footer can haul 6 with room at the front for cabinets, cargo, gear, etc. A standard 20 footer is 2990 lbs. unloaded. Figure all six bikes wet typically wouldn't be more than 2400 for a total of about 5400 before gas and gear, which will vary by owner.
*edit* Here's the data I found for Honda in 2008. I don't know what changes Honda has made since then, if they even apply to the model year you own, or how close to the limit you're comfortable with but here you go. Vehicle: Odyssey Engine: 3.5L V-6 Tow Limit (LB): 3,500 Vehicle: Pilot Engine: 3.5L V-6 Tow Limit (LB): 4,500 Vehicle: Ridgeline Engine: 3.5L V-6 Tow Limit (LB): 5,000 |

I have a feeling a Ridgeline wont be enough truck to haul that big of an enclosed trailer. First because of the weight and second because of the amount of wind drag an enclosed has. I dont know if I'd be comfortable pulling something like that with a Ridgeline. But thats just me.

dude, take my advice,
if your buying a trailer get one insulated, and wired for an a/c with brackets welded in. Go as big as you can, with as much extras as you can afford. I am currently (last weekend) insulating my enclosed 20ft car hauler, and boy what a pain in the ass that was. And once you start disassembling it, you'll see how cheaply they are made. This thing had holes straight thru the corners where you could see the ground! Its all nice and tight now, with spray foam and styrofoam insulation, wiring and welding up the a/c this weekend, and she'll be ready to roll, installing all my r/b and pit posse stuff too! and repainting the floor epoxy tan, with white walls. Its much easier to do it while its being built, and you would actually save money in the long run. They only wanted 300 extra to insulate my trailer, just couldn't afford it at the time, I saved a little cash, but time, it took me about 14 hours to do it with my pops helping. Good luck, check over at glamisdunes.com there is a thread of nothing but trailers for sale, always lots of good deals, and try racingjunk.com for some good deals too! Also go as big as you can, or bigger than you think you will need, my 20ftr could use to be 28 ft, we just keep aquiring toys. |

Yeah I would only be hauling two Banshee's and some gear. I hauled my friends travel trailer that was pretty big and the Honda didn't do too bad.
I def don't want to over load it though. I'm looking for the best deal on a trailer around here! I think i'll def try ans stick with the 8 footer. |
