I have read on a couple of other forums that out of state atvs/ohvs need a utah sticker, what the heck? From what I have also heard is this is nothing new utah has never accepted colorados stickers but they are now enforcing it
Has anyone talked to a ranger at any of the dunes to see if they are.. I hope not I dont want to have to buy a colorado and utah sticker. |

Utah has a reciprocity law, which is an agreement with some states to allow ohv registered in another state to be used here, or utah to go there. Colorado does not fall in this agreement and they must purchase an out of state permit. This is not a new law, been that way for quite a few years.

I went to Little Sahara yesterday and they had a sheriff checking every bike on the way in. cracking down on registration etc this year. I've never seen that before. There were several that got handed tickets.

Its been a law for quite some time. Also talked to some buddys of mine that work the gates and patrol. They are going to actually enforce more of the laws, I am a member on the town meetings and such for sand mountain utah, I am also one who is pushing for more patrol mostly for holiday weekends. It is great that we get the big crowds and its great for my small town but the last 4-5 years it has turned ugly on easter. last year there were more camp spots and big groups of up to thirty ppl at the mountain and not one bike or four wheeler among them. We had three women one of witch was only 15 were raped and there were 14 bikes stolen. and they gave out more dui,s friday saterday and sunday then the entire state did all month long. It is sad that what used to be a weekend of shows and races and good times have turned into a giant rave. Sorry for the rant but to let ya know a secret if they stopp your car to check your tags even if you are out of state if there isnt a bed full of beer and other stuff they will gladly wave you in and tell ya have a nice weekend, I know many of the officers that work the park during the holidays and they are all good guys who themselves ride. So if you come across like matue ppl who just want to ride and have some fun then you will have no problem.
