It's really all in matter of personal use. Skat traks are lighter and have tougher blades but they are more for the hill shooter/ drag racer who wants to watch every ounce and they rock for that. The all out hardcore duner would benifit more with a v blade of somesort, and I know the guys that like the jumping and trick freestyle riding prefer the cheaper paddles due to the flatness of the surface and the space between the blades. So I wouldnt really say that that there are any better or worse kinds of paddles.

Last time I tried something new it failed on me.
Cheaped out on my paddles and went for Sand Haulers, though blades are thick like extremes the carcass is very thick and heavy and it doesn't expand like it should. Gave them a good beating at Dumont too. In two days blades started to separate. I'm not going for Sand Star V shaped Paddles either, they dig too much and affect performance even if just dunning. Tried those on a yfz450 at Glamis & z400 at Pismo, I hate them. My weapon of choice will always be Skat Trak, they'll do for all my riding needs.. From drags to dunes and everything in between. They are very dunable if one throws a bit of body english on the quad.. Just saying.... In another forum there's a vendor with stacks these Sand Haulers stacked to the roof & not selling either. |

No one has mentioned Sand tires unlimited? People in the know, know they are top of the food chain. they cost more , but will outlast all others by a factor of 2 or more if you treat them properly.
Plus STU tires, skate I, Skate II, mini desert trak & the Brat all can be grooved to meet any needs, plus the comp cuts are very light. I have ridden all the premium tires and the STU rules, just because others don't use them doesn;t mean they aren't the best thing going. At least for Glamis type/soft powder sand. One of the best tires I have experienced is a comp cut Skate I with the "pilot" paddle left on - they rocked hard. hooked, cut, turn better than anything else by a long shot - the ultimate duner tire. The cheap tires just don't have the quality carcass & don't work as well, or last. IMHO There are a lot of myths out there when it comes to sand tires. |

Have read plenty reviews guys runnning those STU's ^^ on buggies but nothing on quads.
I know I'll be sending them a pair of Dune Runners for a full buff. It's good work and priced well. |

Almost every bike in our stable runs Haulers or Hauler Extremes so I already know I like and trust them. In fact, I darn near had my mind made up about ordering them again when I started this post but figured the subject needed exploring nonetheless.
