Default Need some help...

Took the shee out for the first time myself since the friday when the mechanic from Duner's ATV took it out to check over my work to the clutch and everything (all he said was it was fast and good to go). So I let it idle and warm up in my driveway while my friends changed out my dad's shees tires and it was running PERFECT, putted around til I got to a nice open street, did three full on drags from second to first full throttle. Stopped after my third and smelt a NASTY smell and my pipes were blowin out horrible smellin smoke so I towed it back home checked tranny fluid, fine, checked coolant, it was pretty low because I think it leaked out the overflow when I was pourin onto a rag under my bike so I couldnt hear it, then checked the plugs and the righty had a white spot on the electrode but that was it???
PLEASE HELP!!?! DRAGS THIS FRIDAY, DUNES NEXT FRIDAY!!?!?!??!!

You blew it up dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just kidding, don't want to scare you....sounds like maybe a coolant hose, check all your hose clamps and hoses, IMO. It should be pretty obvious, got any pics of the sparkplug and motor?

take off your radiator cap and start your bike, if its blowing bubbles or water out the top you have a blown head gasket ! or it could be a seal , also check the compression , you didnt mess up the water pupm impeller seal did you? thats one of the only places water and oil can mix on a shee!

the smell was literally coming out of the pipes I know that for sure. and i'll try and get pics in a lil bit.
what do you mean the water pump impeller seal? you talkin about the clutch cover gasket? and I'll do the radiator thing in a sec, I'm still havin a problem with the right cylinder so I'm gonna switch the carbs around. And the compression is the same as before I started it up before that ride.

I took off the radiator cap and ran it and looked for bubbles and at half throttle it bubbled pretty bad. I must have strained an O-ring running on such low coolant the other day... ran it today and i sync'ed the carbs up perfect and tried to see what the plugs looked like, here's the best pics i could take.

plugs look pretty rich man ! and hey the water in the rad will move a little but if the oring or gasket is blown it will blow it right out the filler neck ! at half throttle it shoud be pretty bad ! the seal that the water pump impellar goes through not the gasket

that's the thing, both pipes were blowin out horrible smellin smoke. and it was just vibration from idle to a quarter/third throttle then around half throttle tons a bubbles came up. And I'll look at that seal tonight. I'm studying for my permit test tonight mostly

I don't know much about shees, but on most cars, you need to purge all the air "bubbles" out of the system or it will cause the engine to overheat. I would try running it with the cap off and see if the bubbles go away. if after a few minutes (after it has warmed up) the bubbles keep coming, you definately have something along the lines of a crack in the system building pressure, or a head gasket leak. Another thing you may want to do, is a leak down test. If you have a tester. but with no valves, I would imagine that to be hard as well.

Sorry dude, I wish I could help you more Keep your mind on your studies and do good on that test! The Shee will wait for you, LOL! But IMO, Paul pinned it with the leaking headgasket.
