The crossover tube as stated earlier just equalizes pressure/vaccum in the intake track between both sides. This makes for a little more fogiveness when syncing the carbs. Intakes with no crossover will be a little more critical of carb sync. The gain you get without the crossover is minimal, but you can dial the carbs in to their individual cylinder more accurately. But if the person doing your motorwork took their time and got everything right both should be very near identical on tune anyhow.

I have no prob syncing carbs! Amazing how a motor reacts to small tune adjustments!

I've used the Boss Racing one piece intakes and everything lined up very well with no leaks.
Prob I had was where stock carbs would hit T5 pipes.

Oh I got a call back saying they were on back order so i went with a billet one piece with built in cross over.

I can't really commet on gains because i was comparing stock carbs to 32's. So of course there were gains.
