I need to get intakes for some carbs I got, (thanks again Wildcard for the carbs) and I've seen a lot of intakes without the cross over tube. I was looking at a few snowmobiles and they don't have them. Then I looked at a few pictures of some drag banshee's and they don't have them.
What are the reason's why someone would want the crossover tube? Or, why wouldn't they want it? Any input/experience?

ive heard the cross over just helps even out everything between both cylinders. i run no cross over which allows u to tune each carb just right for its own cylinder. its probably personal reference on wat u wana do. i mainly did it cuz i like the look and to get that ugly tube out of the way and its one less place for it to have an airleak. did that help?

You can eliminate the crossover tube by buying the intakes with it built in. What intake are you wanting to buy Matt? oh yeah and do you still want filters? let me know as I'm going to put another order in fridayish.....

the one piece intakes, i've, heard bad feed back on. i heard the leak bad cause of something to do with the cylinders not being in exact line. so its not creating the positives seal you need. maybe some people on here will say if it works for them. i'm not running any cross overs BTW running 39 pwk's with individual billet intakes

I'm just gathering feedback and personal opinion. Thanks for all the input. I usually over shop every option to death before I make a decision.
Thanks for correcting the thread title by the way. Shay I'll get with you on the filters here shortly.

the one piece intakes are prone to leak if there is not care in putting them on exactly correct to make sure they fit well. The crossover tube is not needed It was designed to help equal out intake pressures between the carbs, this in fact works fairly well with the in-effecient stock carbs. There have been several claims on how a motor reacts with having one and with not, but from experience it is not a seat of the pants feel in either direction. If changing to aftermarket intakes I would recomend seperate intakes without a cross over tube.
